Ballymaloe Foods Achieves Certified B Corporation Status

We are proud to announce that we at Ballymaloe Foods have achieved B Corporation certification, a globally recognised standard that reflects our commitment to social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. Being awarded B Corp status by B Lab is a significant milestone for us, affirming our dedication to balancing purpose with profit.

This certification follows a rigorous assessment of our impact across five key areas: governance, workers, community, environment, and customers. The environmental challenges facing us today — from climate change to biodiversity loss — are deeply concerning, and we are determined to play our part in making a positive difference. Achieving B Corp status is a moment of real pride and recognition for our entire team.

Our Efforts

Sustainability is embedded in everything we do. In recent years, we have focused on innovating our production processes to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and minimise our environmental footprint. By working closely with our suppliers and partners, we identify hotspots across our value chain and implement practical circular‑economy solutions.

We have reduced our reliance on virgin plastic by transitioning to 100% recycled plastic wherever feasible. As part of our decarbonisation strategy, we now generate renewable electricity onsite through a 75kW solar PV installation, helping us continuously measure and reduce our carbon footprint.

Fighting food waste is also central to our mission. Through our partnership with FoodCloud, we redistribute surplus food to charities and community organisations across Ireland, ensuring good food reaches those who need it most while preventing unnecessary waste.
